Italian Cars

Why you must buy an Italian car at least once in your life

Hiring more than 250.000 people and producing more than 1 million cars per year, the Italian car industry is one of the largest in Europe. It is also the biggest industry in the country and the most profitable one. Today, almost all Italian car brands are controlled by Fiat, which stands for Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino. Approximately, 90% of cars made in Italy are made by the Fiat Group.

Fiat may be the largest car manufacturer in Italy that makes some of the most famous Italian cars but there are a lot of other names that should be mentioned. This country is home to Lancia, Alfa Romeo but also to some more exotic brands, such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, and Maserati. Sadly, none of these brands are a stand-alone company. Fiat controls Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Lancia. Audi controls Lamborghini and which are both owned by Volkswagen. Nevertheless, all brands are known for specific advantages. Usually, design is the biggest strength of Italian cars. This especially applies to Alfa Romeo, Lancia and exotic brands, such as Ferrari and Bugatti.

Some of the best-known cars that come from Italy include Fiat 500, Lancia Delta and Fiat Panda. All of these models are affordable, stylish and they are cheaper to maintain. For all Fiat models, there is a tuning company, known as Abarth. They are simply the masters when it comes to delivering top performances from small engines and small cars. As the result, we have Fiat 500 Abarth that has more than 160HP. In the last 50 years, Abarth has delivered some of the most appealing and most interesting small cars ever made.

Perfection that only Ferrari provides

In my opinion, there is no a better looking car than a Ferrari, no matter which model you take into consideration. Over the years, this company has produced some amazing and iconic cars. One thing is for sure, Ferraris are very expensive, recently a Ferrari was sold at auction for $14 million.

Ferrari has been developed as a race-car company, but they have been making road cars since the beginning. Today, the most powerful model is LaFerrai. It literally stands for “The Ferrari” and it is one of the fastest cars ever made. It is powered by a V12 engine, paired with a KERS system. Together, these two deliver more than 900HP (963HP). The top speed is 349km/h and it will achieve high speeds in less time than any other car. For example, it achieves 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and 300 km/h in about 15 seconds.

Besides this model, Ferrari offers some more ‘’affordable’’ models, such as 488, F12, 458 Spider, California, GTC4Lusso and F12 TDF. Since the day this company was founded, they have produced and sold 130.000 vehicles. Per year, they sell about 7.500 cars, but this number is increasing as we speak. Of all Italian cars only Ferrari is the one that wakes the inner child in people.
